Chud is on itch.io, and our own runtime is at 44%
Chud has a page on itch.io now. It is the same installer and the same version you get here, in one more place. If Chud has been useful to you, a rating there helps other people find it.
The bigger news is ChudRuntime. That is the part that gets a skin into the game, and today Chud borrows it from League Toolkit. Ours moved from 25% to 44% this week. It is built, it is signed, and it passes every offline test we have. The live game trial comes next, and until that passes we are not going to call it working.
Two changes on the site as well. There is a new page that explains what each LTK Manager error means, using the project's own words. And the FAQ answers the ban question directly again, because that is what most people arrive asking.
The same app, faster
Nothing looks different in 5.3.16 and nothing new was added. Everything responds sooner.
- Champ select. The skin grid appears the moment you lock in, about a second earlier than before.
- Library. Search answers in roughly half the time, and the stutter while scrolling is gone. It came from a blur effect on every heart and install button.
- Startup. The window draws first and loads the splash art after, not the other way round.
- A fix. In 5.3.15 the entrance animations played backwards: things faded out and snapped into place. They play forward now.
- Party. Room data on the relay is deleted the moment the last person leaves.
Three releases in one day
5.3.13: no more manual setup
Chud used to ask you to find a file and drop it into a folder before skins would work. That step is gone. Chud downloads League Toolkit's patcher on first run, checks for a new one every day, and only accepts a copy that is properly signed.
5.3.14: party and picker fixes
Party mode and skin sync work again. The skin picker reopens for every champ select, including the same champion twice in a row. Picking the same champion again builds in under a second because unchanged files are reused, and skins that share files with the map build in about half the time.
5.3.15: every screen moves
The layout and colours stayed put; the app gained motion. Page transitions, a champion browser on Ctrl+K, and a skin strip you can drag. If you would rather it sat still, Settings has a Motion option with full, subtle and off.
Get the next one as it lands
Releases are announced in the Discord and on r/Chud_LOL, and the app updates itself. The page on itch.io carries the same notes. Custom skins are against Riot's terms of service and no tool is ban-proof; the FAQ covers that plainly.
